About the CASA Superhero Run
The first CASA Superhero 5K and Fun Run to benefit CASA of Hancock County was held April 2nd, 2016 in downtown Bay St. Louis. The event was coordinated by the 2015-2016 Leadership Hancock County class as their group service project. The success of the first year's event made it obvious that this couldn't be a one-time thing. Members of the class continue to volunteer their time to make this race a possibility each year, along with the help of many other volunteers from the CASA and Hancock County community.
About CASA
CASA of Hancock County recruits, trains and supports volunteers who advocate for children who have been abused or neglected to ensure that their best interest is preserved in court and in the community. Our CASA volunteers ensure that the child’s needs remain a priority in an over-burdened child welfare system.
A Message from the CASA of Hancock County Executive Director
"The Superhero 5K helps to kick off Child Abuse Awareness Month
annually. Having a fundraiser that also promotes healthy and happy
children and their families is a win-win for us. We love how the community
has gotten behind this event and we're excited to see it grow!"
